Back blogging again

After a hiatus brought about by bloody lazinesss, I've started blogging again.

This morning in Cafe Bohemia, Kreuzplatz for breakfast. I've never been here before, but vaguely remember it getting an award for the most number of visits from the noise Police in a calendar year. However my expectations of an early morning riot are dashed. Free wireless hotspot though - that's what kickstarted the blogging again.

Also - lets me watch England getting humiliated in Sydney (cricket, for all you philistines out there

Cafe e Piu, Zurich Oerlikon

This morning I'm at Cafe e Piu. THere are seevral hotspots registering here, in varying degrees, one of which is open access - not a great signal but sufficent for this blog item

Oliver Twist - Zürich

Sunday afternoon in the Oliver Twist, watching sport, what else. There are a few hotspots visible here normally and a couple of free ones.

The pub itself is a haunt of the english-speaking ex-pat crowd, mainly antiipodean or South Africans and is a big rugby venue

Paddy Reilly's, Zurich

This is a first - trying out a new wysiwyg editor for the blog. I'm siiting in Paddy Reilly's, which used to be the Noble Dubliner untilo it was trasshed by bad management etc. Good thing is that they have wi-fi, and alchohol on tap. Who said we should keep work out of the drinking place

Bellevue Cafe

This morning had early breakfast at the Cafe Bellevue - the rotonda in the centre of the tram island that is. Remodelled on the original 1939 design, and refurbished in 2005 its popular with allsorts. It also has a free wireless hotspot.

A good place to watch the world go by, and catch up with email and the like. This is being posted as one of an occasional series on wireless hotspots around Zurich. In particular those that are free and that offer a bit extra in comparison with the dreaded Starbucks

In this case it's early opening hours, charming girls behind the counter, a window on the world and free wi-fi. Oh and instant thrombosis butter gipfeli (croissants). I have loads of photos of this place - I'll get round to posting some
