Wall Painting - Schweizer Heimatwerk

Schweizer Heimatwerk

Like many other European countries, murals are common in Switzerland. I've no idea why some countries go in for it and others not. Maybe it's climate, or the predominant construction techniques, or the expense.

Anyway, here's some on the facade of the Schweizer Heimatwerk shop in Zurich

This is a truly great masterpiece. Everything comes together in harmony. I looked at the picture a lot of times to check if the windows are truly not part of the painting. It looks really beautiful.

In modern times, the term became more well-known with the Mexican "muralista" art movement (Diego Rivera, David Siqueiros, or José Orozco). There are many different styles and techniques. The best-known is probably fresco, which uses water-soluble paints with a damp lime wash, a rapid use of the resulting mixture over a large surface, and often in parts (but with a sense of the whole). The colors lighten as they dry. The marouflage method has also been used for millennia.

Alles kommt zusammen in Harmonie. Ich betrachtete das Bild eine Menge Zeit zu überprüfen, ob die Fenster wirklich sind nicht Teil des Gemäldes zu. Es sieht wirklich schön.
