Zurich Rathaus

The Zurich Rathaus - the Town Hall - dating from the 1690's and a little piece of baroque delightfulness. The proportions are emphasised by its isolation on the banks of the Limmat.
In this photo, it looks like it's all done by wires......

Yes, nice, but surpisingly isolated! (Of course the trams were not there in 1690.)

I was absolutely right. This "isolated building" thing seems to be taking hold. Are you feeling unwell, or struggling to master yet another new camera? You've definitely stepped across a line. I'm worried. Would you like to discuss it?

Ce bâtiment est monstrueux, il semble fait de cellules indifférenciées : des panneaux avec une fenêtre et des pignons qui ressemblent à des façades, sans un mur mitoyen. Il y a tout de même une porte mais ni la cage d'escalier, ni le hall ne sont pas marqués. C'est incroyable qu'il ait 100 ans de plus que ma maison de famille à Epinal (de 1799) qui n'a que trois façades....
