I'd have sworn that was teasel, but I bow to your superior botanic knowledge........... Nice picture though.

L'écossais, que tu es, aime les chardons, et moi je suis lorraine et le chardon est le symbole de la Lorraine.
Il en est de deux types, il y a la cardère des champs qui met plusieurs années à pouvoir hausser sa hampe et monte en graine en général près de clôtures car elle n'aura pas été broutée.
Et il y a la cardère qui servait autrefois dans l'industrie textile pour carder les étoffes. D'où le nom de la plante : la cardère.
Seulement la cardère des villes est plus difficile à pousser, elle demande des soins attentifs ; elle est en voie de disparition.
A la différence de celle des champs, sans doute celle que tu nous montres ici et qui est moins régulière de forme.

Thanks everyone, but I confess I made up the name furzel. Not out of sheer mischief but just because I don't have many plant-words in my vocabulary. I think it was inspired by the similarly imaginary "woozle" from winnie-the-pooh.

FF - thanks for your ever-welcome visits. Unfortunately I can't return the compliment because your blog only allows fully paid-up Blogger-bloggers or Open-ID sorts to participate, not unidentifiable low-life such as myself. But I still READ it!
