London, Russell Square

I have no decent photos of my recent activities, when I was equipped with iPhone and digitial P+S, so I'm going back to spring, same trip as the previous photo.

London infuriates me, but I love the parks and many other things about the town.

I've also decided to make my blog bigger, well, wider....

Richard, why is this an eerie photograph? Nice but a little strange...

It is not even titled "eerie" but I think it is (wink)!!!!

Hi Sean - well I agree with you. That's what struck me about it. I've shown this to a few people who haven't been impressed, but it's a bit of a favourite of mine. Like some strange arrangement, with the figures all separate and doing something different and the girl in the foreground... But life is surreal sometimes

.. Alice in Wonderland was what I was thinking of... I think

Sean's right. They struck me as appearing like strange bits of rubbish floating about in a typical London scene. Promote it well and this could reach the level of becoming THE iconic image of Russel Sq. Alice in Wonderland is very apt.

Richard, I think you've scored with this one. Very Russel Sq indeed.

For a start the fact that everyone is so alone, except for the couple on the tree and even from this distance seem alone and isolated... its a sociable setting and yet hostile!

Yes, strangely alien and hostile: the antithesis of the sociable place it is supposed to be in the heart of London's accademia. In one image it combines many opposites.
