Bookshops and Bicycles

Just a simple photo today. There is something about bookshops and bicycles. The combination offers hope that life is not all about materialism.

This photo is shot in Zürich, although it feels like it should be Paris or Oxford. Zürich nonetheless has a diverse and interesting cultural mix - academia, small independent media firms, artisans - which give the city it's flavour much more than the financial institutions which dominate the economy.

I take this as compliment to Paris (and Oxford)! Anyhow, I can state that Zürich is also a very nice city!!

Oh dear, Richard, where have I been? I missed so many good posts it's not even funny. I like that you add more commentary than you used to, too. The second photo in your Kingdom of the Sea post is fantastic, very special. I loved your post about the Freitag bag, and yes I too was moved by Federer's tears. There wasn't much about it on French TV though but then that Sunday was bursting with other exciting sports news: the French handball team becoming world champion and Michel Desjoyaux winning the round the world single-handed Globe challenge sailing race.

I'll be back more often, promise. I missed too much.

Right. I've changed the link in the sidebar on my blog and now it goes straight to your neue blog - it'll be easier for me to come and visit. Cheers!
