Kim - this was just a bit of knob-twiddling in Adobe Lightroom / Greyscale conversion. (Canon EOS5D 24-70mm f2.8l @ 24mm ISO 250 1/500s F8)

(Actually the knob twiddling has resulted in some nasty artefacts that you might notice, so I would probably re-do this in Photoshop if I was going to produce a proper print)
