Canale Grande

Falling back on some Venice archive photos today. Before James Bond destroyed everything, the local boats perform a delicate ballet in the early morning on the Grand Canal

..now there's a lovely subject for colour. That's the wonder of digital. You can just do anything you want with it. ;-)

Seriously, I wonder how that nicely formed water texture would come out in that morning light. And the sun? Silver white or golden dawn rise?

I like that - boats performing " a delicate ballet".
('specially coz I just watched the first episode of "So, You Think You Can Dance - Australia".
I HAD to watch it - the cricket was washed out!)

So redolent of Venice. and without the gondola cliche.

And of course, the sign that perseverance pays: the first image with full Exif left in?? ;-)

Cergie - quite so. I enliven these poor colours of the spectrum by giving them tone and depth and vitality and contrast! Don't think of it as desaturation

Ham - luckily I have an EXIF editor, so you can't be sure, can you.... ;)

Well, if it said "Leica Best M8" I'd have some sort of idea.....
# Posted By Ham | 2/4/08 8:17 PM
Ham - It didn't? Need to fix that
# Posted By Richard | 2/4/08 8:29 PM
.....certainly vindicates you. Proves that you are right all along ;-)

I love your caption. It's delicate like your photo and Canal Grande e i veneziani are grateful to you.
