Vaporetti

For me the vaporetti are the clockwork that keeps Venice going. If you take the routes that circle the city and ferry commuters morning and evening to and from the railway and bus stations it gives you a good insight into daily life.

Get off at one of the stops like Fondamente Nove or on the Giudecca and make your way into the heart of the town from there

The colourful Venice looks a bit grey on your photo, but still SO nice!!!

I really like this one, the light is just as I remember it on some grey mornings. The photos I showed on my blog are very touristy - I really enjoy the fact that you show the ever day working side of Venice.

Richard, did you get the photos I sent you? I hope I didn't flood your inbox like an aqua alta on San Marco!!!

nathalie - yes, thanks - they were brilliant. I replied to your business email address. Maybe it got chewed up by your spam filter?

Interesting addition to Nathalie's and Peter's views.
This kind of bloggers' meets should be done more often so that to get different perceptions.
The B&W pictures render so well the mood of Venice under the high tide or so I think having never been to Venice!

Thérèse - they do say if you send three photographers to the same place they will all come back with different imgaes - must be true!

I really need to noesy round your images more, I adore what I have seen so far. Very atmospheric and the angle on the water it' self is terrific.
