Arc de Triomphe

Well I guess the regular Paris photo bloggers won't feel the need to include the Arc, but as a visitor I just couldn't resist it.

You had a risky position there, but the photo is great. For a Dutchie Paris is always good. This city will never bore me.

Did you have a safety vest on?

Interesting to speculate on the time of night when you took this....the road is very quiet. Have you noticed how the city traffic waxes and wanes: 7.30pm..manic as they go theatre/dinner, then quiet at 9.00pm, manic again as they all come out around 10.30pm, then quietish 'til 2.30am when they start to emerge from the night clubs, then a short lull and at 4.00am the metropolis awakes and the early workers begin to swarm in? "The city never sleeps", but it has very clear rhythms.

RICHARD !

Great. I have to presume you didn't have your tripod, am I in right? Did it by free hand? In this case the result it's wonderful !

@chucker - you're right about cities, although some of them seem to have severe cardiac arrhythmia

@laetitia - I'm Scottish - we don't wear vests

@Fabrizio - I managed to steady the camera on a traffic bollard

@cergie - aha, I forgot...
